From the Author

For years I wanted to compile my recipes and publish them. For years I wanted to do something with the blogs (we used to call them web logs) that I kept intermittently. I started composing the structure of the cookbook and realized that it was boring me. An author's work should not do that. I thought about a new direction for a few seconds when it hit me. It was like working from a blueprint in dim light. I could make out the overall plan, but not the details... It was break time... Popping a can of miscellaneous energy drink (it's crack for the sober population), I could suddenly see. It was as if someone had increased illumination over my drafting table. The blueprint in my head was vividly clear and I began pounding on my keyboard. Many of my blog posts or social network posts inspired some type of story. Many of these related to or could relate to food. Six months later, Stove Top Stories is born. This book reads like a memoir, has a nonstandard formula for recipe-listing, and contains some unavoidable yet appropriately placed toilet humor. This ain't your mama's cookbook.
